I take the following kinds of insurance:
What if I don’t take your insurance?
Here’s a very cute pug and a squish to get you through this insurance part:
I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement of out of network therapy services.
A superbill is an itemized document that includes the information your insurance company may need to process an out-of-network claim.
You pay for your therapy sessions directly, then submit the superbill to your insurance company for reimbursement. The amount you may receive depends on your individual insurance plan and its out-of-network benefits.
For example, if your session fee is $150 and your insurance plan reimburses 70% of its allowed amount after you meet your deductible, your insurance company—not me as your therapist—determines the amount you receive back.
Before starting therapy, contact your insurance company to confirm your out-of-network mental health benefits.Ask your insurance carrier:
Do I have out-of-network (OON) benefits for outpatient mental health/services?
Do I need prior authorization or pre-approval before starting care?
What is my yearly out-of-network deductible? How much of my deductible has already been met this year?
What percentage of the allowed amount will my plan reimburse after I meet my deductible?
What is the policy year timeframe (e.g., Jan 1 – Dec 31)?
Is there a maximum out-of-pocket limit for out-of-network care?
For other questions to ask your health insurance network about your out of network coverage, check out this article.
You will keep a credit card on file with me, and payment will be collected for each session. I will provide a bimonthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
Please note: Providing a superbill does not guarantee reimbursement. Your coverage and reimbursement amount are determined by your individual health plan and may depend on factors like your out-of-network benefits, deductible, coinsurance, allowed amount, exclusions, and claim requirements.
